About the project
A personal exploration of how FX can bring energy to beauty and cosmetics visuals. The starting point was simple: two brushes meeting and releasing pigment into the air. From there, the challenge became managing the relationship between the thick powder burst and the fine particle dispersion, keeping both systems feeling like part of the same event rather than separate simulations.
Timing and density were the main variables throughout development, with the goal of creating a shot that feels grounded in real material behavior while still being visually expressive. Modeled, simulated, shaded, lit, and composited entirely from scratch.
